Hockey nationals

Hosts Madhya Pradesh State Hockey Academy (MPSHA) entered the quarterfinals of the Bhopal nationals by demoloshing Himachal Pradesh with the huge margin of 11-1. With this, MPSHA has become the first team to book a berth in the quarterfinal. There were six scorers for MPSHA team with 5 players scoring two goals (Surinder Gaur, Upendra Pillai, Vikas Chaudhry, Rana Pratap Singh and Shalendra Bundela) and Kaushlendra Bundela socred one goal for MP.

Bhopal team also registered a win by beating Chhattisgarh 5-1 in another game played.

Strong teams like Chandigarh, Punjab and Maharashtra also won their respective games. Chandigarh beat Vidharbha 10-0, Punjab beat Hyderabad 2-1 and Maharashtra beat Rajasthan 4-0.

In other encounters played, Uttar Pradesh also beat Vidharbha 6-1, while Tamil Nadu beat Madhya Pradesh 5-0.

30 teams have participated in the event and as we reach the quarter final stage, big names are sure to reach this stage.
