Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2025: Full Schedule & Details

Five-time champions India will return to the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in 2025 after a six-year gap. India’s last participated in Sultan Azlah Shah Cup was in 2019.

India will compete alongside World Champions Germany. Both teams will join hosts Malaysia, Ireland, Canada, and Belgium in this prestigious tournament.

The event begins on November 22, with the final on November 29.

Tournament History

The Sultan Azlan Shah Cup is the biggest invitational hockey tournament. The tournament was first hosted in 1983. It was initially hosted every two years. However, since 1998, the organizers have hosted it annually.

Australia leads with 10 titles, followed by India with 5. Pakistan and South Korea have won the tournament three times each.

Tournament Format

The tournament follows a round-robin format, where each team plays against every other team once. After the group stage, the top four teams qualify for the semi-finals, and the winners move on to the final.

Tournament Schedule
