All is starting to get well

Obaidullah Cup played in Bhopal this year was a great success atleast financially. The organizers distributed Rs. 10.5 lacs as prize money. They even payed Rs. 18 lac to all the members of the World Cup playing team. The govt.even pledged Rs. 1 crore towards the hockey welfare fund. Though there was a problem in the marketing aspect of the tournament, but it did not stop them to organize the great event. The organizers also promised to make it a grand affair next year. There are not many tournaments which gives cash rewards to the winners (one of them is Nehru Cup). Another good thing is that 10000 people watching the final of Obaidullah Cup. Kudos to Mahdya Pradesh govt for doing something for hockey

  2. It is good for Indian hockey if this type of tournaments are organized regularly.It would be really great if media can give good coverage to these matches.I hope the PHL or similar kind of tournament should be started by HI as soon possible.-Pankaj
