Young Indian team on tour to Bangladesh started their tour on a high note after beating hosts 2-1 in the first test match played today in Bangaldesh Krira Shikkha Prathisthan (BKSP) with all the goals of the match coming from penalty corners.
It was hosts Bangladesh who drew first blood after their penalty corner expert Farhad Ahmed Shetul scored the first goal of the match in the 30th minute of the play.
India just took two goals to restore parity in the match after Gurjinder Singh scored goal 2 minutes later. India took lead in the game very next minute after another penalty corner expert Harjeet Singh put India ahead.
Second half of the game was uneventful as both teams failed to add to their goal tally.
The three match test series was organized after Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) invited Indian team for their preparation of World Hockey League to be played next month and Asian Games to be played in the month of September.
Remaining two matches will be played at the same venue on August 8 and 9.
