Indian team for the World Cup to be held from from 29th August in Argentina has been announced.

Indian team for women’s World Cup was announced on 14th of August. The team was selected jointly by IOA and HI. Hockey India despite being de-recognized sent the team in its name due to participation issues. FIH only recognizes Hockey India as the NSF and so in order to participate HI had to give its name.
The team is missing the services of veteran Mamta Kharab due to a knee injury and she will also miss CWG in October.
Striker Surinder Kaur has been retained as the captain of the team, due to her performance. She has been the goal scoring machine for the team. She has scored many goals in the recently held tournaments and also helped the team to win Bronze medal in the inaugural Asian Champions Trophy.
Goal-keeper Deepika Murthy is also included in the team. Deepika was missing from the action due to illness. She will be a great boost for the team who has been facing defensive worries. Also inclusion of Arjuna Awardee Jasjeet Kaur will help the quest for medal as she will be brimming with confidence.
Along with World Cup team, the team for Commonwealth Games have been announced. All the players except Soundarya Yendala and Monika Bradan have been retained in the team.
